Introduction

When creating menus in PrimeroEdge, all ingredients and recipes used within the menu must be entered into PrimeroEdge. This includes all ingredients with a recipe, even when it's something as simple as flour. To follow the flow of information input, an ingredient is the first step to creating a recipe and then a menu item. This is relevant whether it be a single ingredient or multi-ingredient recipe. There are thousands of ingredients found in the various databases. Before you create a new ingredient, you want to perform a database search to see if it's already available. We always want to search the PDE-Shared Database first as the ingredients in this database have more detailed information, documentation and are easier to find. This course will walk you through how to search the database and best practices for optimizing search results. For this course, we recommend that you also have a second browser page open to access PrimeroEdge. Activities are built into the training to give you hands-on experience.
